300 title sequence...

The use of 2d imagery especially the blood directly reflecting the brutality of that era and setting up the viewer for battle, "I was obsessed by this 2D blood we had in the film and I wanted that experience to continue in the title sequence," Snyder said. The silhouettes help to give the army an overwhelming sense of scale and power, giving them no defining details, allowing them to become one body, one army. The colours used match the colour style that Lynn Varley had used in the comic. The blood features heavily throughout the title sequence not only to match the theme of battle but to give an artistic touch, "Throughout the film I wanted to use the blood almost like a paintbrush stroke and I think you feel that when you see the title sequence. It's an artistic stroke rather than just blood".
