Today was the first class of this module, we were introduced to the basics of Maya, rather a recap of our 1st year tutorial sessions. We were told to design a simple character that could be used within a game engine. This meant that it has to be a low enough polygon count to be manipulated easily within a game engine. I will be researching low poly character designs, methods and concepts from other artists. I will then move onto my own character design using the methods and techniques that I have researched. The final design part of my project will be to create the turnaround images for reference when modelling, and also the UV maps used for the models texture and overall look.
